Chocolate Experience at Cadbury Tasmania

Collective Engineering is proud to be the services engineer for the new Chocolate Experience at Cadbury Tasmania (CEC), a landmark $150m development set to revitalise the historic Cadbury site in Claremont, Hobart.
Slated for opening in 2027, this ambitious project is the culmination of 15 years of research and collaboration by Simon Currant & Associates and Cadbury. Designed in partnership with Tasmanian architecture firm Cumulus Studio, alongside Art Processors for the experience design, the project aims to create the world’s most extraordinary chocolate experience.
The CEC will feature diverse, high-tech environments, including Specialty Experiences such as Chocolate Central, the Premium Chocolate Studio, Build Your Own Bar, Masterclass, and the Chocolate Lounge. Further, the Immersive Chocolate Tour will bring Cadbury’s 100-year Tasmanian heritage to life through the Cacao Forest, Chocolate Lab, Factory Control Room, Taste Kitchen, and Emporium.
Our team is responsible for designing the integrated Building Services Systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection and vertical transportation) that will power and support these specialised environments, ensuring precision control and operational efficiency.
The attraction is forecast to welcome 550,000 visitors and inject $120 million into Tasmania’s economy annually. To support this influx, Navigators Group, renowned Tasmanian ferry operators, will utilise purpose-built ferries to transport over 80 per cent of visitors directly to the new Claremont terminal.
