Collective Engineering is proud to provide comprehensive building services engineering for Riverlee’s landmark New Epping development. This project is part of a $2 billion urban renewal initiative located 18 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD. We are laying the technical foundation for a range of high-performance buildings, which include commercial offices, serviced apartments, and the flagship New Epping Health Hub.
New Epping Medical, situated within a 20-hectare health ecosystem, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance clinical efficiency and patient well-being. Stage 1 of the development, which began construction in the first quarter of 2026, will deliver over 8,000 sqm of Net Lettable Area (NLA) across six stories. The design features flexible, light-filled floorplates aimed at improving clinician efficiency and supporting patient recovery.
Our engineering scope focuses on creating resilient, flexible infrastructure that supports:
- – Tailored services for anchor tenants with specialised clinical environments, including Icon Cancer Centre and Lumus Imaging.
- – A direct link bridge connecting the Northern Private and Public Hospitals to facilitate smooth patient and practitioner movement.
- – Light-filled and flexible spaces, with high-efficiency floorplates of up to 2,115 square meters that accommodate the evolving needs of modern medical practitioners.
Sustainability and wellness are key priorities. Our systems are designed to meet sustainability and wellness targets, aiming for a 5-Star NABERS rating within a 6-Star Green Star Community. The development incorporates biophilic design and green connections to the adjacent Edgars Creek Reserve.
As a crucial milestone in regeneration, New Epping transforms 51 hectares of land into a vibrant mixed-use community focused on wellness and innovative urban design.
The precinct will feature residential areas, commercial spaces, short-stay accommodation, retail options, recreational facilities, restaurants, childcare, and entertainment, serving a rapidly growing population expected to increase by 44% to around 691,348 residents* by 2026. It also offers excellent access via the Hume Freeway, Western Ring Road, and public transportation.
Collective Engineering is excited to collaborate with Riverlee, Kane Constructions, ClarkeHopkinsClarke, and the broader project team as we transition from the design phase to active construction, following the project’s official commencement in early 2024.
